🧠Post 5: Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

Think Before You Believe: Using English to Understand the Media

In today’s world, we receive information from many places like social media, websites, and news apps. That is why critical thinking and media literacy are very important — especially when we are learning English.

Critical thinking means analyzing, questioning, and making decisions based on facts, not rumors. Media literacy is the ability to understand and evaluate the information we see in videos, songs, news, or social media — especially in English.

Sometimes I see news that looks false. When that happens, I always check the source. I compare websites, read more than one article, and make sure it’s official and real.

I use English to watch YouTube videos and listen to music, and that helps me improve my listening skills, my pronunciation, and understand international news better.

My advice is simple: verify before you share. Think critically. Use your English to understand the world.
